Imagine you just get off the plane in Thailand.
You take a cab and head to the beach house you rented on Airbnb for the next month. During the road you get an email with income report from the last month. $5,243 from your few niche online businesses (ads and paid memberships), $17,353 from affiliation programs and $1,214 from couple iPhone apps you own. $23,810 in total.
I love conferences. I love meetups. I love good talks.
No wonder that I’ve seen plenty of them. I’d like to share with you talks that I enjoyed, talks that motivated and inspired me and talks that had impact on my life.
Money can be a sensitive subject, especially in classic corporate business. As always things are a bit different in IT.
It’s quite common and desirable nowadays for computer-related job offers to have known salary ranges. Time is money, as they say, so wasting your time for a job that has rates below your expectations or recruiting a person who will quit right after reveling the salary is just nobody’s business.
Don’t waste each other’s time. Put the money on the table.
I would like to tell you a story. My personal dev story of how I’ve become a programmer.
I was born in 1986 in Warsaw (Poland). When I was around 10 years old I got my first computer, Commodore 64. Oh! What a machine it was. Keyboard with CPU inside, tape recorder two joysticks and few tapes loaded with games (do you remember?:)).
